Massacre Rocks and Oregon Trail
We drove to Massacre Rocks State Park on Saturday. We hiked around the park, along the Snake River and to trail ruts left by the wagons on the Oregon Trial.

We found a good water fountain along the way. It had ample pressure.
This part of the snake river was an ancient lake, and the stratification of the rock seen along the bank show the different layers.

We hiked to the Oregon Trail ruts at the north end of the park. We then saw Register Rock, where lots of pioneers wrote their names in grease or carved them in the rock.
