Sunday, May 4th, was warm and sunny, so I rode out to the edge of town to check out some trails.

Gibson Jack Trailhead is located on the southwest edge of town, and has trails in the Caribou National Forest.

I hiked up Upper Gibson Trail, and got to just short of the summit, where a few feet of snow blocked further travel.

Wildflowers were just starting to come out on the ridge.

The hike was fun, quite a climb for two miles one way.

I ran into one 'quad' that I thought was riding illegally, since the trails are still closed to ORV's, but it turned out to be a Search and Rescue guy patrolling the hills.

Wow, it's gorgeous out there! Still "hilly," but there's so much open space. You have a great view of the mountains from your back porch!
